Michigan Science Benchmark Clarification

MICliMBScience.org contains an intermediary document called MI CliMB Science. The final product will be a CD distributed by the Michigan Department of Education during the Winter 2002 and will include Mathematics, Social Studies and English Language Arts as well. The user will be able to integrate benchmarks and search using key words across the content areas.

This website will be available to you until December 31, 2001. The format of this document suggests several internal links for glossary words and other multicultural biographies that will not be available to you until the CD is finished. Currently, the linked information appears below the text that refers to the link. On the CD, this information will be a mouse click away.

Every effort has been made to have the web links in the resources/references section of each benchmark active and accessible on-line.

MI CliMB expands upon the meaning of each benchmark contained in the Michigan Curriculum Framework, or in the case of Science, the 2000 summer revisions document. The benchmark language is followed by a clarification written by science educators as to what that benchmark means in language that should be understandable to most educators. To further explain the clarification of the benchmark, two additional sections are contained within this document. An instructional example is given along with resources and links to the constructing and reflecting benchmarks used to help facilitate that instruction. Finally, an assessment example and a grading tool are also provided. More >>>
